Our trajectory

With over 50 years of experience, we combine tradition and innovation to establish ourselves as a benchmark in the Uruguayan and international fishing sector.

Since 1974, we have worked with dedication in the capture and processing of key species such as Argentine Hubbsi Hake, Hoki, Kingklip, Illex Squid and Blackbelly Rosefish. This commitment to quality and respect for the marine environment has been essential to our growth.

In 2021, a consortium of five leading companies launched a new chapter for Pesquerías Belnova. With an investment of over 40 million dollars, we modernized our fleet and operations thanks to the strategic support and key participation of:

Moradiña

Pesquerías de Bon, S.A.

Pesquera Azimut, S.L.

Agencia Marítima Barros Lersol, S.A.

Klion Group

This collaboration has allowed us to advance in innovation and sustainability, ensuring the growth and operational excellence of our company.

Each milestone in our history demonstrates our commitment to innovation and sustainability. From the renewal of vessels like the Río Solís II and Río Solís IV to the implementation of advanced hygiene and traceability systems, we have always prioritized operational excellence and respect for the environment.

Today, Pesquerías Belnova is synonymous with quality, sustainability, and responsibility. With a strong presence in international markets, we continue writing our story with the same passion and dedication as in our early days, contributing to the development of the fishing sector and supporting the economic and social progress of the communities where we operate.

Modernized fleet and innovative vision

Our fleet, recently modernized with cutting-edge technology, is the heart of our operations. Each vessel reflects our commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and the ability to deliver top-quality products to international markets.

Uruguay: A privileged environment

At Pesquerías Belnova, we operate in one of the world’s most privileged fishing environments: the waters of the South Atlantic.

Driven by the convergence of the Brazil Current, warm and nutrient-rich, and the Falklands Current, cold and highly productive, these waters host a unique biodiversity, making them one of the richest and most diverse regions globally.

Our home port in Montevideo strategically positions us as a key hub for fishing activity in this region. With a prime location and advanced storage, logistics, and marketing channels, we optimize every stage of the value chain. This allows us to deliver exceptional products and maintain an efficient connection to international markets, solidifying Pesquerías Belnova as a benchmark in sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence.

A distinctive value that defines us

Our distinctive value lies in the modernization of our fleet, equipped with state-of-the-art technology that maximizes energy efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions. We incorporate advanced propulsion systems and optimized designs that enhance operational performance and contribute to the decarbonization of the fishing industry, enabling us to meet the demands of international markets.

In addition, we place special emphasis on the living conditions of our entire crew and implement responsible methods for fishing and processing, designed with a focus on ergonomics, hygiene, and efficiency. These improvements strengthen our operations and ensure an optimal flow throughout the value chain, resulting in a superior-quality final product that directly benefits our customers.
